South West Riding Community Interest Company
The South West Riding Community Interest Company (CIC) is dedicated to improving access to horse riding and equestrian activities for individuals who may otherwise face barriers to participation. Our mission is to provide inclusive, supportive, and high-quality riding opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled riders across the South West of England.
We believe that horse riding offers not only physical benefits, but also enhances confidence, wellbeing, and social connection. By creating a welcoming and accessible environment, we aim to ensure that everyone—regardless of background or ability—has the opportunity to experience the unique rewards of working with horses.
As part of our ongoing development, we are currently investing in the construction of a second sand school arena. We are awaiting planning permission from Mendip Council for a new 42m x 42m arena, which will significantly expand our capacity and allow us to offer more sessions to a wider range of participants.
This new facility will enable us to increase lesson availability and introduce additional programmes tailored to different needs and abilities. To support this growth, we are delighted to be welcoming new coaches to our team from April, bringing a wealth of experience and fresh energy as we prepare for an exciting launch this summer.
Through these developments, South West Riding CIC continues to strengthen its commitment to accessibility, community engagement, and the transformative power of equestrian activity.
